Hilton Head has never stood still. The Island Josh grew up on changed enormously during his lifetime. Families arrived. Businesses opened. Neighborhoods grew. Bridges, pathways, parks and public spaces changed how we moved and gathered. Hilton Head became one of the world’s most recognized resort communities.
And through all of it, generations of Islanders worked deliberately to keep this place from becoming just another beach town. Josh believes our next chapter requires that same balance. Respect the character of Hilton Head without fearing its future.
You can leave home without leaving it behind.
Like a lot of people raised on Hilton Head, Josh left the Island to learn, work, build a career and experience life somewhere else. And like a lot of people who know this place deeply, he always knew what made home different.
Josh returned to Hilton Head full time in 2024, bringing with him more than 20 years of business and executive experience and a renewed appreciation for a community he has known his entire life.
Now, he wants to serve it. Not because Hilton Head needs to become something entirely different. Because what makes this Island extraordinary is worth carrying forward.
A different kind of growth.
I believe the question isn’t whether Hilton Head will change. It always has. The better question is whether we’re thoughtful enough to guide that change.
That means making responsible decisions about development and infrastructure. Taking public safety seriously. Preparing for the bridge project and its impact on Island life. Protecting the environmental standards that made Hilton Head a model for coastal development. Strengthening our relationship with organizations and institutions that bring value to our community.
And it means resisting the temptation to pull up the drawbridge behind us. People have been discovering Hilton Head for generations.

Thoughtful Growth | Protect the character and environmental principles that distinguish Hilton Head while remaining open to smart ideas, responsible development and the opportunities ahead.
Safe, Strong Neighborhoods | Keep public safety, infrastructure, mobility and the everyday concerns of residents at the center of Town decisions.
A Council That Can Work Together |Disagreement is part of representative government. Disrespect doesn’t have to be. Josh wants to bring a measured, civil and collaborative approach to Town Council.
The Places That Make Us a Community | Continue investing in Island Rec, parks, pathways, youth programs and the shared spaces where Hilton Head becomes more than a destination — it becomes home.
